Lab

Small applications from my open-source projects, running live on my own server. They are read-only: look around, nothing you do changes them.

fping-watch

A ping monitor with a 24-hour web view, built on zig-fping.

A small daemon that pings a list of hosts once a minute and shows, per host, its status, latency and packet loss over the last 24 hours. This public instance is read-only: you see what it measures, nobody can change what it pings.

  • One row per host: status, a strip of recent cycles, 24-hour uptime and current latency
  • Click a row for its 24-hour latency chart with packet loss underneath
  • Paced probing: 5 echo requests per host per minute, spread out, never a burst
  • Built for many viewers: the page reads cached results and never triggers a ping
Built with
Zig 0.17 and zig-fping, a Zig port of fping; one static binary, no libc, no dependencies
License
fping license (BSD-style)
